Sheila O'Flanagan: Connections

Hey guys, this novel is a collection of short stories by Sheila O'Flanagan. She was inspired by this book when she was on holiday and just sat there wondering about the people around her. As someone who is a keen people watcher and who loves making up stories to go along with random strangers, this book was right up my street. I loved how each guest plays a part in other parts of the story so you may get a more complete picture of the reason why the little old granny is here on her own or the who the American couple is? The only critic would be, there was a couple of stories I was like, I wanna know more. Where do they go? What happens next? Did the nice man get to keep in touch with his son, did the old lady get what she was after... Will the book ever get written? ;) Anyway, this is a perfect little holiday read and it's not to late for a last minute book splurge for beach reads!! Hope you enjoy it! Annie xx

Dublin: My Birthday

Quite chilled with good music and large enough to fit a small country.  We ate in a local restaurant called Cinnamon for breakfast the next day, it was beautiful. Irish food is something to be reckoned with! We didn't do very much on the Saturday, we were very, very hungover. But we made up for it the next day... We walked into the City Centre through St Stephen's Green, dandered around Trinty College ...

Rachel feels like she has to do something.  The thing is, Rachel is a raging alcoholic whose whole life basically went down the swanny when she realised her husband, Tom was having an affair and was leaving her.  She lost her job, she lives with her friend whose sick to the back teeth of her behaviour and is stalking her ex, his new wife and their new baby. I mean abusive phone calls and showing up drunk to their house... It's a...
