Sophie Kinsella- Shopaholic and Baby

Hey guys, Picked this book up about two weeks ago from a charity shop, guilty pleasure- loads of books for a fraction of the price! Why not?! This novel is part of an eight book series from Kinsella and one was made into a film, 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' with Isla Fisher. I had never read any of the series so this a first for me and it was amazing! I picked up the story right away, its truly stunning writing when you don't need the back story to get stuck in. As a bit of a shopaholic myself I completely understand where the main character was coming from with ALL the designer labels and brands. And have even purchased some must-have items which have never seen the outside of my wardrobe... Anyway... The novel follows Becky, her husband Luke, her pregnancy and all the ups and downs which fall in-between. Becky has the perfect life until she gets an appointment with celebrity obstetrician Venetia Carter,  who turns out to be Luke's very successful and intell...

The plot-line is simple, the main character Christine Rose has two weeks to help troubled Adam Basil fall back in love with his life. Sounds easy right? Wrong. Christine has her work cut out for her. She tries with her numerous self-help books to help Adam deal with his problems, but is it only Adam with issues? After seeing another man shoot himself in the head, Christine's own life begins to crumble. After splitting up with her husband Barry, who has turned in from the ex from hell, Christine's problems are mounting. With trying to keep her busines...

A life. Lost.

Searching for that feeling, Searching for that rush, Searching for the love, That I once lost. Somewhere in the mist, There's somethings that I miss. Living. Feeling. Seeing. Believing. Somewhere in the fog, That's where I am. So where in the darkness,  I'm fighting to come back.  Somewhere in the abyss, Is where my life is. Searching for that feeling, Searching for that rush, Searching for the life, That I have lost. Annie x

Seeing red...

Dear Readers, I'm based here in good old Northern Ireland and recently a story about an aging TV personality who was 'let-go' was all over the news. He had a long and successful career stretching over 40 years, he was on radio, TV and on stage. Now he is complaining that he was sacked for being 'too old' and as he's in his 70's he had a long and fruitful career.  As I sit here and watch him on BBC news my blood is boiling! I am absolutely livid. I have sat for months, even years looking for a job in this particular industry and it's people like him that are making it so difficult for me! I have been pro-active in my writing, searching for work and polishing my skills. No-one wants to take me on due to 'lack of experience' and how does one go about getting experience when NO-ONE will give you a chance?! I understand that he didn't want to leave his job and that he has his own issues going on however, as I've a fiver to my name and he...
