Hey y'all,
The book mostly tells the events of a couple of days, Sophie's 40th birthday no less. She's woken up by a man in her bedroom and all he does is hand her a letter, steals her phone and tells her not tell anyone, especially the police, that he's been there.
Yep, book haul means regular posts. For a while anyway. I know, I know, I'm spoiling you. <_<
Yeah...
Yeah...
I have to say, this book had me to tense. Like, I went to bed with serious pain in my shoulders from anxiety. My stress knots had stress knots. I genuinely considered reading the ending of this book because I didn't think my body could cope with this one.
The book mostly tells the events of a couple of days, Sophie's 40th birthday no less. She's woken up by a man in her bedroom and all he does is hand her a letter, steals her phone and tells her not tell anyone, especially the police, that he's been there.
Obviously panicked, Sophie heads to her sisters house. She can't figure out who's trying to do this to her, it is her fiance or his ex wife? Why would someone want to hurt her?
As the story unfolds, things about Sophie and her fiance, Marc are revealed. He has a turbulent relationship with his ex Claudine, over his two kids and is frequently falling out with her. Sophie believes Claudine is a monster however, is she as bad a Marc is making out or is there a side to Marc that Sophie doesn't know?
There is a lot of questions throughout the story and we don't know who was after her until about three months later. But let me say this, when you do find out who it is you will be shocked that such a person exists!
Nothing actually bad happens to Sophie, there's no violence or anything but it's definitely a tense read and I really hope you enjoy it.
